DRAGon Mask 2 Day Workshop
Pride Month 2025
We believe a key aspect of living your truth is exploring and discovering your authentic self through creativity and self expression.
In our safe space of peers and allies, we celebrate Pride Month by finding our inner DRAGons and making cardboard dragon masks:
DAY 1: Saturday June 21, 12-3 pm - Build the masks
DAY 2: Sunday June 22, 1-4 pm - Paint and decorate the masks
Celebrate Pride Month by finding your inner DRAGon and making your own cardboard dragon mask.
Who its for…
LGBTQ+ kids and teens, their parents and families, allies and friends.
DRAGon Kings, Queens, and Royalty Marchers
Participants and their families are invited to march with Team Rowan in the 2025 Chicago PRIDE Parade on Sunday, June 29th.
If I make a mask do I have to march?
No. We would never require Team members to march in a parade. Our priorities are your safety and comfort while expressing yourself and having fun. Conversely, you may also march and not wear your mask. We are stronger together!
Why dragons?
The rainbow dragon serves as a magical symbol of protection, a gender-affirming guardian, and a powerful ally protecting LGBTQ youth on their courageous journey of coming out and living their truth. For those of us who want to experience marching in the parade, but also prefer privacy of their identity, the DRAGon masks serve as a protective disguise.

We are Team Rowan
We’re on mission to support queer and trans youth and their families. We believe everyone needs a team. We act with love in our hearts, serving the community by giving back, learning to transform together, while supporting one another as a team of compassionate allies. We’re just getting started as a self-funded, small, grassroots community group on the North Shore of Chicago.
We are stronger together! Please reach out to Team Rowan if you’re interested in joining the Team or learning how to support: hello@teamrowan.org.
